Hello! I'm Dean, I was born March 1994, and I live in North East England. I'm Ginger, straight, accidently awesome, very clumsy, a Consulting Detective and your averagely random and weird Time Lord. Oh and I am most definitely socially awkward. Take a look at my about me if you'd like to know more... Pottermore Username: NimbusUnicorn114

Movie 13, Friday the 13th

My 13th movie review, on Friday the 13th of January so naturally I thought I’d watch this. That and it was conveniently on t.v.

So this was an ultra-violent film where a bunch of teenagers get hunted by a psycho killer named Jason and naturally he for the most part succeeds. Basically the acting and story were both a pile of bollocks, but I know this will sound weird but I loved the violence and how graphic it was and it was quite refreshing to see it done decently.

So because I actually enjoyed this cheesy little number, I’m going to rate it 7/10 as it was the best horror film I’ve seen in a while. Although the originals are probably better.

Movie 12, Evan Almighty

The sequel of Bruce Almighty this features the character Evan Baxter who was Bruce’s rival in the first movie, moving from news to government but then ‘God’ flips his world to shit and makes him build an ark.

This is an alright family movie, it has undertones of how a model family should be and how problems shouldn’t break them apart. Another good message this movie preaches is to complete ‘one random act of kindness’ which is a nice thought and makes you want to do it. :)

So I’;; rate this 7/10 because it’s an obvious underdog to the superior Bruce Almighty but as an unpredictable sequel, Evan Almighty suffices.

P.S. I haven’t been on Tumblr today because I’m haven’t been in the mood and stuff like that, and I just want to keep up with this.

So I guess I’ll see you guys later. (Possibly tomorrow)

Movie 11, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd

Okay, prequel to Dumb and Dumber but not as good, doesn’t have the original cast and relies heavily on being almost as immature as me.

It also implies that Harry and Lloyd are retarded instead of just being mentally challenged and fearless like they were in the original movie.

Therefore, I want to say I enjoyed it. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t crap so I’ll rate it 5/10

Movie 10, Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit

The feature length movie for the U.K’s greatest claymation duo, this movie sports all of the crazy inventions and cheese as the t.v. series but also pushes boundaries to make it targeted more towards an adult audience with the subtle use of innuendos.

But this was a fantastic film, and it doesn’t strain itself to be something its not. What it is, is a simple piece of entertainment, utilising comedy and horror in a way that is also fun as a family film.

So overall I’m going to rate this 8/10 because my head is being weird and trying to use big words and be posher than usual.

Movie 9, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

To start, this is late because I wanted to sleep and then I woke up late and then when I got home from college I got a new phone. So I’m doing it now.

Okay so this is a Japanese anime movie that follows on directly from the popular Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya series, so if you haven’t watched that then you may get a little lost. But I think even if you hadn’t saw it this movie is still good.

I watched the English dub too this time because I’d previously watched it in Japanese (with subtitles), and I think the overall portrayal of emotion was actually improved, which is rare in the anime industry.

So in this movie we follow the narrator Kyon, get freedom from all the shit he has to put up with from Haruhi, who is like God, and he is put into a parallel world where nobody can remember Haruhi Suzumiya. However he can get back to his world if he collects all his club members’ parallel selves, in their clubroom. The thing is, although he actually complains about Haruhi and the stuff she does, he actually loves it really and does everything he can do return things to normal.

So yeah that description probably wasn’t the best, so if you’re into Haruhi Suzumiya then watch it, if not then I’d highly recommend it, except for when they copy groundhog day for like 8 episodes in the second series but the rest is fantastic.

Anyway I’m rating this 8.5/10, where it would get a 9 if it was more accessible for everyone.

Movie 8, 500 Days of Summer

You know, for the first time ever I’m reviewing a movie that I didn’t enjoy that much. I just felt that it’s sole purpose was to put me off women. I mean honestly, I love Zooey Deschanel, but I just felt like her character was a total bitch who just plays with people’s feelings. I mean, that’s like a lot of women who come into a man’s life but you shouldn’t make  movie about it.

Although the positive parts were the really cute bits, like the flirting and the dancing, but that doesn’t justify the cold harshness of how the story turned out. Although I loved the ending, where things start to look up again.

So just to end I’m going to rate it 5/10. Sorry.

Movie 7, G-FORCE

G-Force is a movie that I’ve had in my Sky+ planner since before Christmas and only got round to watching it now and sure, it’s meant for kids and stuff but like most childrens movies, I enjoyed it.

It stars a bunch of rodents, that are secret agents, that basically unravel a secret plot and fight Transformers. But I found it to be enjoyable even though it relies heavily on borrowed formulas, therefore I’m going to award this an awkward 6.5/10.

Movie 6, Fast and Furious 5

Today I watched the fifth installment of the fast and furious franchise, and I loved it.

I mean sure it was a bit slow to get into the story and action fully, but when it did, it was brilliant.

Another great thing were the cameos of characters from previous installments, including Han, who even gets the girl which is cute.

So overall I’m going to rate this movie 7/10, because the slowness is a bit of a drag, but it is overall fantastic in all other aspects.

Movie 5, i,ROBOT

I nearly forgot to do this today, but I,Robot was on TV so I just sat and watched that and it’s a great film. Very much an action film and also about how people can become too accustomed, and that change is always possible. E.g. the robot uprising.

Now today I’m feeling lazy so I’ll just end this now with 8/10.

Movie 4, Wall-E

Okay so I’m back to Pixar already, and Wall-E is just one of those feel good movies that you can’t not love. Even though the main characters don’t really talk, I’m fine with that because I’ve played a game from the Legend of Zelda series.

But because Wall-E is another unlikely hero story from the house of Pixar this movie is great, and you can’t really fault it for animation style or even plot, and you can be left with a catchy little show tune in your head.

So because I like this movie, I’m going to rate it an 8/10. It’s great and everything and that’s a high score… but there’s better Pixar movies to watch.

Movie 3, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Okay, today’s film was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and this has been on my movies to watch list for like ever, and it honestly did not disappoint me at all.

It was actually the most beautiful movie ever, and it really puts all my relationships into perspective on how just one thing can spoil everything but then you never realise how it can be repaired.

Any way enough of me being human, and more of how I thought this film was so I’m just going to rate it now. So, judging by how happy, sad and relatable this movie is I think I’m going to rate this 10/10, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Movie 2, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Today I saw the 2nd Transformers movie which has a reputation for being rubbish but I don’t find it that bad. I mean the other two are better but this suffices.

It stars Sam and his car, (Bumblebee) back again battling the Decepticon invasion. But thats all they do, fight Decepticons in a couple of countries and say some funny things. Other than that Megan Fox looked quite pretty too :D

So overall I’ll give this a 6/10 which is still generally positive, because it wasn’t as good as it could be.

Oh yeah, 1st Movie Review. This’ll be about Bolt then.

So today I watched Bolt and as you’d expect from a Pixar movie, it was fantastic. It looked really similar to the Incredibles which is great, and then it also had a super powered dog named Bolt.

Bolt didn’t actually have super powers though, that’s the thing. He was just the star of a hit TV show, named after himself. Then he gets lost, has to journey across America and face reality for the first time. This also made the movie very emotional and stuff because he gets replaced not only as the star of the show but also as his owners companion.

But overall this movie is great, although not the best Pixar movie. Therefore I’m gonna rate this 8/10.

I really want to do this but won’t be able to watch 1 a day :|

I like this idea too. Might start it up when I take my Professional Film Review class.

I’ll do this todayy! and some other times too if I remember… Expect a fantastic more than one word review of some movie, that is probably about a dog because every movie I’ve watched so far today has been about a dog.
